Green Wave
IN the line at the supermarket, the cashier told an elderly lady, who should have brought her own bag to carry the purchased, because the plastic bags were not good for the environment...
The lady apologized... and explained to the cashier that in her time, she had not the "Green Wave" ... the employee replied: yeah, so this is our problem now, in these modern times ... your generation did not care enough to preserve our environment...
The Lady said that he was right... that in the old days there was no concern over the Green Wave ... in those days, milk bottles, soda, and beer bottles, among others, were returned to local shops where they acquired, and left a deposit...
The store then sent it to the appropriate plant, and once there, they were washed, sterilized, recycled, and they were refilled, so they were ready for sale ... they were used again and again, while they were in good condition...
To the buildings we were going up the stairs, as there was no escalators, or the blessed elevators... we walked to the various stores, instead of getting on our car and move a block or two "on wheels" ... but YOU have reason, the old lady tells to the clerk: we had any Green Wave in those Times!...
At that time, we cleaned at hand the baby diapers, because disposable diapers did not exist ... “we” dried ourselves in clotheslines the clothes at outdoors... and soaps we used were without much additional chemical as those that exist now: they did not exist either in old times... For Machinery, they did not exist, nor do automatic dryers, which consume so much energy, like the ones in modern times...
We used the sun's heat and the blessing of the winds, as natural 'energy' for drying of clothes ... the younger boys inherit most of the clothes of their older brothers or sisters ... but, you are right, sir, we did not have neither knew of the Green Wave in those days ...
We had “one” radio and / or TV in the house, preferably in the living room and the TV screen was the size of a handkerchief, a little more or less, not like today's screens, so large ...! And now there's a TV in every room, almost to the bathroom...!

In the kitchen we grind grain, broke, and ground by hand, because there was no electric machines to do it for us ... when we packed something to send it by mail, we use newspapers and crumpled papers to protect the product, not plastoformos or plastic balls or something like that ... in those days we did not turn on a gasoline engine and burned them down, just to cut the grass... we used mowers running at pure muscle...!
We worked out working, not going to gyms and using mechanical / electrical machines, wasting even more energy ... but you're right, Mr. Teller we did not know about “Green Wave”...! We were drinking from a fountain when we was thirsty, and not of plastic bottles that take many years to biodegrade ... we recharge our ink fountain pen, instead of throwing it, and buy new pens... razor blades, we replaced them, instead of throwing it all the piece, and get a new one, because it had lost the edge...
But we did not have a Green Wave in those days ... I would have liked to have it ... yes, because people took the tramway, bus, and young and not so young, they used the bicycle as means of transport, and used it to go to school or work, instead of using their mother as luxury taxi driver ...!
There was one outlet in every room, not a "bank" or a "central" making-current, over-loading the system ... and we did not need an electronic device to receive signals from a satellite, that at any time the sun burns it,  to find the nearest pizzeria ...!
So, do not find it regrettable that the current generation is complaining of the oddballs and neglected, that we, the old guys, were for not having this so-called "Green Wave" today ...?!
Send this to any older person, of the "third age" as they used to say now, that you  think that he needs to give a lesson to any idiot that  "blame" them ( to the old) with the Green Wave ....

You send it to who sees fit ... share it ... I received free; I give you for free...

To be continued...
